Martin Luther King Jr.: Tiffney and Jennifer

For your comments on Presentations:

First, write about something well done.  What did you learn from this group?  What part of the Presentation seemed the best?  Be specific, and use a specific example from the Presentation and your notes.

Second, offer constructive criticism that would help this group. What might have been more clear?  What part of the Presentation seemed the least polished?  Be specific.

  1. Something that I didn't know before this presentation was about the Selma March I thought that was very interesting. The best part of the presentation was when they showed the video of the march I thought that helped show the emotion of the topic really well. Something I think they could work on was making sure the work was divided equally it seemed that one person did most of the work and talking just based on her knowledge of the subject.

  2. I think Jennifer and Tiffney did well on introducing new topics that Martin Luther King Jr. was involved in to our attention. A lot of us are only familiar with the "I have a dream" speech. I also liked that they used that video to show just how different things were back then. Something they could've brushed up on was adding more information about the new topics, they just put what they were and didn't say what happened or anything.

  3. You both seemed to know your information in the sense that it did not seem like you were reading from the slides, which is nice. I also found the video clip of the march helpful in showing the struggle and hardship. I have not heard of this march before, so this was new information for me.

I would have liked to know more about today's topics and how MLK Jr. is impacting protests etc. today.

  4. You guys did really well at presenting us with information that we did not know about a visionary we all thought we knew about. You brought us other information with a clear theme.

The only thing that was not the most polished was the video and how you only showed the first march, I feel like showing the third instead would have painted him as more of a visionary leader than the first one where they get attacked and pushed back.

  5. It was overall a good presentation showing new information about someone that most people already know about. I did not know about that he spoke out about the Vietnam War.
For constructive criticism, I would say to not use Wikipedia as a final source.

  6. I learned a lot from this presentation. For example, MLK had a vision of his death and shared it to the public through his I saw the Mountaintop speech. I think the presentation could have been a little more organized overall.

  7. I really enjoyed the fact that you did your presentation on MLK, because over time, I have forgotten a lot about him. Specifically, I liked your choice of video. This gave all of us a visual on the march that took place many years ago, and the struggles that people faced for equality. Something that I would avoid in the future is using Wikipedia as a source.

  8. This presentation was very enjoyable. You guys touched on information that I had not already known which included the Selma Bridge march and how it took them three tries to cross. It is always so fascinating how MLK kept fighting for equality despite the threats and popular opinion. I think that would have made this presentation better would be to add more or talk more about how he was a visionary. What was his ultimate vision? Just to have equality or was there more to it?

  9. The presenters did a very good job of including facts that most of us don't know about, such as the Selma March and MLK's Vietnam War speech. I would say maybe a little bit more flow between topics would be helpful, and more focus on MLK instead of the events he participated in.

  10. I like the fact that you did MLK Jr. And talked about the March of Selma and other things that we weren't so aware of. I liked that a lot. Something that I think maybe you should work on is getting more sources.

  11. I love that your focused on less known aspects of his career because so many people are only familiar with his most famous doings.

There were some parts where your synchronization seemed a little off, like you both weren't on the same page.

  12. I liked that you included a lot of information that is not as known about MLK. I really liked how you tied it to today and how there are many protests currently going on that are not peaceful. I would just say that a criticism would be to familiarize yourself with the google present that you used. Just so it could have run a little smoother when pulling up the video and audio clips. Great job!

  13. I thought your movie clip was really good and a powerful clip to show! One thing I also lied was how you didn't talk much about him as a person because a lot of people already know about him. One thing I would've changed was I would've printed a picture out as a handout of his kids instead of passing around the book. I thought it was a little distracting. but overall good job.

  14. I really liked your presentation and the not so familiar informaiton you shared. I thought the video clip was awesome! It was so informational. I would just like to have seen more about him as a person that made him a visionary and more about his personal life.
