Jackie Robinson: Kristen and Seth

For your comments on Presentations:

First, write about something well done.  What did you learn from this group?  What part of the Presentation seemed the best?  Be specific, and use a specific example from the Presentation and your notes.

Second, offer constructive criticism that would help this group. What might have been more clear?  What part of the Presentation seemed the least polished?  Be specific.

  1. This was a good start to presentations for the class. Something Kristen and Seth did well was going back and forth smoothly when talking about Jackie Robinson. I noticed this when Kristen talked about Jackie's retired jersey on to Seth talking about how Jackie became an activist for black rights. I don't think there was anything they needed to work on or to polish, it was a very good presentation. It kept all of our attention.

  2. A fact I didn't know before this presentation was that most baseball players hit 25% of the pitches they get and Jackie hit 30% of the ones he got. The best part of the presentation was the intro with the video. I thought this set the tone of the presentation and made it start off well. Something I think they could work on was to give better explanation on why he was a visionary and not focus so much on how he achieved his goals and who helped him.

  3. I enjoyed your presentation and found it informative. The video clip was nice. My favorite quote from it was "...someone who is strong enough to NOT fight back". You both did a great job presenting together and bouncing off one another. You both seemed confident in what you were presenting. Did a good job explaining the multiple aspects that made Jackie a visionary.

I would have liked to know more of how exactly he is impacting the Black Lives Matter movement today and other movements.

  4. Good job going first with it well planned and with good teamwork splitting up the different points well. The addition of the video was pretty good too.

I also think the part about black lives matter was the least polished but overall you guys did well.

  5. The presentation had a very good flow and seemed to be split evenly between both speakers. The video did a good job of showing the delicate situation he was in.
I would have liked to know more about how much diversity there is in the sports world now.

  6. Overall, great presentation! There was a lot of practice and effort put into this presentation and it really showed. I did not know the many struggles Jackie Robinson faced when he joined the MLB. The only thing that could have make this presentation better would have been to show a clip that was Jackie actually talking, if possible.

  7. I loved the fact that you were able to take a well-known person, and elaborate on aspects of his life that I was not aware of. You both seemed very knowledgeable on the presentation, and were very good at taking turns when speaking. The only critique that I have is to maybe elaborate on more current ways his visionary actions have affected people.

  9. I really liked this presentation. Both speakers were very well prepared and I like how they took turns speaking, and their points connected with each other. I liked the theme of "self control" and how the presenters used the video clip from the movie 42 to show it. I could not find much to critique in this presentation, but I would say that maybe a little more insight on his visionary traits would be helpful.

  10. This was a great presentation! I thought that the video was a nice touch without being a distraction or not relevant to what your presentation was about. There was a lot that I learned about Jackie Robinson throughout your presentation that I did not know. I would have liked to know more about his original vision if he had one.

  11. I think that your presentation had wonderful use of slides. You were very thorough and your slides worked seamlessly with all of your information.

Since your presentation was so thorough, I did get a little lost in the names of all the important people mentioned.

  13. The presentation was well organized. I like how you put a clip of the movie 42 to help illustrate your point on what he went through. I can see you did a lot of research. Good job.

  14. I loved all the info. You did a great job! I liked the clip in particular and how you tied in throughout the whole thing. Like Sam said I got a little confused with all the names. But that's not you're fault. I should've taken notes. (:

  15. Overall, your presentation was fantastic! You seemed very well rehearsed and prepared. I loved your "Key people" slide where you talked about all the significant people in Jackie's life. The only negative that I thought was that I wish you would have explained the video a little more.I didn't really get what was going on, but you did reference it a few times so that helped.

  16. What I learned form this presentation was that he received death threats and that he has made a big impact for people of color. I know you guys included somethings he did with Martin Luther King I would have liked it if you went more into detail.

  17. I really enjoyed your presentation because my love of baseball and how inspirational Jackie Robinson is. I also liked how you provided all the achievements he accomplished, many of which I didn't know. The only thing that could have been elaborated more on was his vision.
