Kurt Cobain: Andrew and Shel

For your comments on Presentations:

First, write about something well done.  What did you learn from this group?  What part of the Presentation seemed the best?  Be specific, and use a specific example from the Presentation and your notes.

Second, offer constructive criticism that would help this group. What might have been more clear?  What part of the Presentation seemed the least polished?  Be specific.

  1. This entire presentation kept my attention. I like that you talked about how he used heroin to ease his pain, because that is actually the case for most users in one form or another.
One suggestion would be to cut some of the more basic facts such as birth date, since it was a little over on time.

  3. One positive thing that I liked how about this presentation was that it was interesting. You kept the audience interested throughout and taught us more about Kurt Cobain, which many people do not know about. The only critique would be to maybe focus more on his vision. I felt that you guys got caught up in Nirvana as the band and less focused on the ways he was a visionary.

  4. Good presentation enlightening anyone who is unfamiliar with Nirvana or the impacts that music has had on culture.
Presentation was a little long and would have been better with music included.

  5. Something I learned from this presentation was that he had so many illnesses. I think the best part was when you showed the vision he had I thought this was a very good part to put in the presentation. Something I think they could work on was the transfer of information to one another just to make it flow better.

  6. From this presentation I learned that , I think that the presentation was at its best when talking about his legacy and his rise to fame because it sounded like you knew that the most about it.

it seemed like you didn't practice together enough to know how long your presentation was going to be.

  7. As a music lover this presentation kept my attention. It was cool hearing about a true "rocker's" life. I think they did a great job explaining in great detail about every subject. Especially the mental stability of Kurt Cobain. Although, for some I wish they would've shortened it up a little bit so we could've listened to the music video. Over all, great job though.

  9. I really liked your guys presentation. The information at first seemed unimportant but once you got into it, it was really good. I really liked how you guys mentioned all the "baggage" he had and tied it back to his vision and how it made people not realize how big of a vision he had.
Something you could work on is maybe speaking a little faster. I wanted to see your video at the end lol.

  10. I never knew that Cobain was a feminist and I love that you discussed that so much. Most people know him for his grunge rock and his suicide, but you made this issue the most important and I thought that was great.

I would have loved to hear some of his music though in the presentation, it would have given us a tangible feel for his work.

  11. I loved how you talked about his involvement in social movements, I didn't know that. I have listened to some songs from the album "Nevermind" and I did not know that there were feminist ideas behind it. The presentation was a little on the long side, would have liked to hear more about the conspiracy on his death.

  12. I liked that presenters showed that Kurt stood up for social change. I like the quotes used against rape. One thing I would point out is that I would have liked to listen to part of one of his songs or the video during the presentation.

  13. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR PRESENTATION! I thought your information was awesome and there is so much to learn about him! I think it's so interesting that Blink 182 has a similar logo. I never thought about that before! Maybe try to bounce back and forth more! I thought Andrew spoke the majority of the time.

  14. I had never heard about Cobain's neer death experience as a teenager. I think the presentation did an excellent job at putting essential information on the slides so the audience knew the key points of the presentation.

The presentation could have used a bit of practice before presenting in order to allow for smoother transitions.

  15. I learned a lot! You both seemed to really know your stuff. You seemed to want to share everything you learned with it because you found this person so interesting. I like how you explained how other bands are being inspired by Nirvana; that was a good thing to mention. I liked your natural comedic personality, it helped make the presentation more fun. You both gave good eye contact and were very informative.

For next time, try not to mention too much information since you had a time limit; however, I would have liked to hear more anyway because you both made this person seem interesting.

  16. I never heard of Kurt Cobain before this presentation. I can see how he was so passionate about women issues. He just wanted everyone to get along and help one another. I wished we could have seen the video at the end of the presentation, but overall you did amazing job on the research.

  17. A strength that I found in this presentation was the explanation of Kurt's vision of feminism and equality. The details on some specific songs, such as Polly was very insightful. The only critique that I have is that one group member was more prepared, which affected the presentation as a whole. Overall, very well done!

  18. The things I learned about this presentation was that there are good things about Kurt I only knew about him killing him self and his other bad things I didn't know he was Against rape. Something that would have helped this group would have been to talk a little more faster so they would have had more time to show the video.
