Profile Practice: Katie Shower

On September 28th Alexis Hensel sat down and explained some of her feelings towards the future. She said she was a 19 year old student at Ohio State Marion but her twin, Trent attends Toledo. She works at Bath and Body works now, which she loves, but over the summer she worked at a factory almost 80 hours each week. She said working at a factory really made her appreciative for Bath and Body works because working at the factory is hard labor and long hours. It was nice to get to know a few things about her interesting life and make her open up.

When asking Hensel about her future she seemed very in the middle; between pessimistic and optimistic. She stated she was pessimistic politically because there's no winning with the presidential candidates, "Neither of the candidates are appropriate role models." She then said she was optimistic because people have become more accepting of controversial issues such as: equality, LGBTQ, etc. She couldn't really pick between optimistic and pessimistic.
When asking Hensel about who has impacted her vision of the world the most, she became a little more reserved. She got quiet for a second and you could see her think long and hard for a second. Her response was "my parents and God." She then went on, "initially my parents from a young age and as I've grown, God has impacted me the most. My parents gave me the tools and characteristics I need to be open minded and successful. God is different because he showed me that everything happens for a greater reason."

  1. "She got quiet for a second and you could see her think long and hard for a second." This sentence that you used really helped to set the scene; loved it.

  3. Reading Alexis' profile has given me a new respect for her. Factory work is not easy, and anyone who can do it is exceptionally strong willed. I also loved how Katie phrased Alexis' answers about her influences--the writing was great and made them seem very sincere.

  4. You did an excellent job of describing Alexis, especially with her behavior when it came to answering questions. It was almost as if I could see her thinking deeply about the question before answering it.

  5. Good job at keeping your profile informative and entertaining as well. 80 hours a week sounds awful!
